Biography

Thomas Alexander "Tab" Biggs is a South Florida freelance trumpeter equally at home in all styles, including orchestral, theatrical, commercial, and jazz settings. He maintains an active performance schedule with regional orchestras, musical theatre productions, and commercial engagements.

A native Floridian, Tab earned both his Bachelor's in Music Performance and Master's of Nonprofit Management from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). During his studies, he performed with the Florida Intercollegiate Band, headlined the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) conference with the FAU Wind Ensemble, won the 2023 FAU Concerto Aria Competition, and is a two-time semifinalist at the National Trumpet Competition (2024, 2025).

Off the stage, he regularly performs with Healing Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing live music to hospitals in South Florida. Through this work, he performs for patients and their families, using music to provide moments of comfort and connection.

In addition, Tab is an instructor for several band programs throughout Palm Beach County. Each school year, he works with dozens of students of all ages. During the summer, Tab has taught on the faculty of the FAU Band Camps, an initiative that provides Title I students with musical instruction and support outside of the academic year.
